I am pointing to diamonds!
(When we walked into the store there was no one here with us.)
(Hayley was so excited. She never thought in a million years that we would let her get her ears pierced.)
(At this point, she was ready and excited but a group of College Girls came in just in time to watch, of course, but they were saying things that were uncalled for. One girl said, "Hey look, she is getting her ears pierced!. Oh, she is going to cry, I cried when I got mine done. And I only got them pierced two years ago." Meanwhile, her friends were telling her to hush because that little girl could hear her and she will make her cry, too." But...)
(The girl never moved a muscle, didn't even react as if anything even happened.)
"That didn't really hurt,"( was all she said!)
"I like them...it didn't really hurt at all!"
(This girl has always proven how tough she is! She amazes us with her determination and tolerance to pain! She is a stone wall...nothing fazes her! And she is so proud of her pretty ears. We let her pick out as many pairs of earrings as she wanted and she can't wait to start changing them. The next morning, she woke up and came into the living room and said, "I bet you forgot about my ears, didn't you." And I told her I did not forget. So, when Kevin got up I heard her ask him the same thing. She couldn't have picked a better birthday present! She is very happy with herself and her pretty little ears. But I gotta tell ya...Kevin, being the big brother that he is, pulled me aside while Hayley was picking her earring studs, and asked me if I really thought this was a good idea because Hayley already has so much trouble with her ears. So, I assured him that I wouldn't let her do this if I thought it was a bad idea and that the trouble she has is inside her ears and this is unrelated. So, way to go Kevin, keeping Hayley's best interest in mind. Do you think he is concerned that his parents don't have a clue what they are doing? )
